The best place to find sloths and waterfalls near Tamarindo is the Tenorio volcano area. Here you can enjoy a 45-minute walk to observe the incredible Rio Celeste waterfall. After, we travel to the town of Bijagua, where we observe the sloths in a small reserve area located between the Miravalles volcanoes and Tenorio. You will get to see howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, toucans, frogs, worms, butterflies and many rainforest plants. After lunch, we drive back to Tamarindo, making a one-hour stop at the Los Llanos de Cortes waterfall, where you can swim and cool off.
Los Llanos de Cortes is located 2 hours and 45 minutes from Tamarindo.
